Lodge Lane Nursery

Lodge Lane Nursery is open from 17th March 2010, Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm. The nursery specialises in hardy herbaceous perennials, plants which normally grow and flower between March and October, then die back each winter, sometimes vanishing completely below ground level. We also stock grasses, bamboos, clematis, honeysuckles, many bulbs and some shrubs.

The current plant listing ranges from popular to choice and unusual. Most are produced are propagated from the Nursery's own plant material and many are in the garden, shown off to their best in their mature state.

We try to grow our plants in as environmentally friendly way as we can. Here's how:

Locally grown We propagate as many plants as we can on the nursery. We buy new stock from UK sources where possible, and if not, buy tiny plants from overseas and grow them to maturity ourselves.

Peat-free compost. We use peat-free compost, produced in the UK from green waste, for 99% of our plants.

Organic plant food. Plants are fed using organic liquid and slow release feeds

Pest control and weeds All pest control is done using biological controls and we don't use chemical weedkillers.
